Learning Outcome 5 & 6

My Writing Prompt 3 in this post shows my ability to cite sources using MLA formatting. To cite sources in MLA, you must always give credit to the person you are taking from blatantly. I will usually do this before the quote, by introducing who the author of the quote is or by directly saying “[Author’s name] says…” to give the author credit. Other times, I will use the quote then say who said that quote afterward using in text citations to give credit. I usually address local errors in my rough drafts. Spelling mistakes are usually fixed through auto-correct in Microsoft word. Most of my grammatical errors are using too many commas in a sentence, which are found when I go through my final revisions. When I read the paper aloud, I will see the commas I use and take out or restructure my sentences so the reader doesn’t get stuck on run on sentences or a sentence with so many comments that it confuses the reader.
